對於信仰天主教的南美洲人來說， 聖誕節 是一年之中非常重要的節日，有美麗的聖誕裝飾，有歡樂的遊行慶典，有家人們聚在一起吃的大餐。
✶ 各地的聖誕氣氛
早從十一月就有人開始擺出聖誕節裝飾，一直要到一月以後才會收起來。
四處旅行的這幾個月，我在幾個城市都看到了聖誕佈置，自家房子外掛的彩燈、商店放的聖誕樹、公共場所擺的馬槽雕塑，雖然沒有電影裡的豪華，沒有歐洲的豐富，沒有台灣的商業化，但是有一種溫馨的感覺。
和台灣的聖誕佈置不太一樣，我們大多以聖誕樹和聖誕老公公作為重點，也許就是商業化的反映，在南美，似乎耶穌誕生的馬槽擺飾才是他們認為代表聖誕節的裝飾，我想這樣也更符合聖誕節是為了紀念耶穌誕生的想法。

✶ 我在Huanchaco的 聖誕節
身在秘魯的我沒有家人、朋友，選擇了在海邊小鎮Huanchaco自己度過聖誕節（詳情請看），沒有想像中的盛大，但也挺有意思的。
聖誕節前夕，原本冷冷清清的青年旅館一下子來了好多客人，一群法國男生和好些歐洲來的背包客，突然變得熱鬧起來，我們也把聖誕裝飾掛上，經過一番佈置後，更有節慶的感覺了。

失敗的聖誕晚餐
聖誕夜的晚餐，有青年旅館準備的火雞和馬鈴薯等配料，而幾個法國人自願要為大家料理這頓大餐。
下午我經過廚房，看到空無一人，這幾個男生似乎不太可靠，我知道準備二十人份的食物是要花很多時間的。果然，晚上七點，法國人哭笑不得的來告訴坐在泳池邊聊天的我們，火雞買回來了，但是冷凍的，美食節目裡烤非冷凍的火雞都要四、五個小時了，這頓飯什麼時候才能吃呢？
還好我已經事先答應了一起打工換宿那對情侶的邀請，要吃他們準備的vegan聖誕晚餐。Sebas煮了香料飯、甜椒鑲飯和蕃茄燉茄子，Paola做了哥倫比亞的傳統聖誕點心Natilla。
吃飽喝足後，我坐在外面和還在等火雞的人們聊天，已經十點多了，他們一瓶啤酒接著一瓶的喝著，我開玩笑的說，等到吃晚餐時，你們大概也醉到分不出火雞烤得好不好吃了吧！
終於，十二點之前，大家進到餐廳，一邊吃著火雞大餐一邊愉快的談天著。雖然沒有禮物，晚餐是沒烤熟的火雞，身旁坐的也只是今天才初次見面的的陌生人，但這頓聖誕晚餐似乎給了我們一種特別的連結。

我和青年旅館其他的人都是無法回家過節的旅行者，也許對我不是那麼重要，但是對於那些歐洲人，不能和家人一起過聖誕節應該多少有點失落，不過，我們就像旅行途中的家人，一起過聖誕節，一起享受歡樂的氣氛。
