Kibbutz Bar’am在山上，氣候比較涼爽，這裡出產的 蘋果 是全以色列最好的，也就是為什麼Bar’am以蘋果出名。
我們住的集體農場外面有非常大的果園，種的大部份是蘋果樹，其他的果樹有桃子、西洋梨、奇異果、番茄、西瓜、葡萄……
蘋果工廠（apple factory）
蘋果工廠是整個kibbutz裡面最大的工廠，也是主要的經濟來源之一。
蘋果從樹上採下來後，卡車會把一箱箱裝滿蘋果的大籃子從果園送到工廠處理，清洗、分類、裝箱，然後才會載出去賣。蘋果工廠不只處理蘋果，也有桃子、西洋梨和奇異果，Bar’am也賣這些水果，只是不像蘋果這麼多。
在工廠裡工作的，除了經理和工頭外，其他都是外面請來的阿拉伯女生。每年的八月至十月，也就是蘋果季，這段時間蘋果工廠需要很多人力，幾乎有三分之一的志工都被分在蘋果工廠工作。

我的工作是把蘋果裝箱
我在蘋果工廠工作過一天，那是八月初，蘋果季剛開始的時候，不過因為我在洗衣房和印刷廠的工作實在太重要了，所以後來就沒有再來這裡工作。
裝箱的地方一排有五個人，蘋果在旁邊的運輸帶上一直往後跑，跑到最後會從旁邊被往前送，就這樣一直循環，不認真做的話蘋果就會積很多，我前面的人動作都很快，常常經過我之後就沒有蘋果給後面的人拿了。
在放蘋果時，要先檢查一下，只要蘋果有一點小受傷就不能放進去，如果我不知道蘋果這樣算不算受傷，我就會把它放回運輸帶上，讓其他的人拿，因為他們比較有經驗。
裝蘋果的時候，要把不紅的放在下層，比較紅的放在上層，而且最紅、最漂亮的那一面要朝上。
▼ 在紙箱上要寫自己的號碼，這樣有問題時才知道是誰做的，我的號碼是v21，v代表志工（volunteer），很巧的是我洗衣服的號碼也是v21（關於洗衣服的號碼由此點閱）。
▼ 一個紙箱裡有六個塑膠盒，每盒裡上、下各放四個蘋果，這是B等級的蘋果，其他等級的裝法會不一樣。
在蘋果工廠工作其實很累，因為一直重複做一樣的事，加上那天只有三個志工在那裡工作，我旁邊都是阿拉伯女生，他們的英文不好，沒辦法和他們聊天，所以就更無聊了。
不過也是體驗到了另一個工作，還有，我很喜歡蘋果工廠裡濃濃的蘋果香。
